About Us

I'm never more alive than when I am making music.

Here's a secret: singing FEELS GOOD (if you're doing it right) and it makes your head vibrate in a very pleasant way. I enjoy sharing that pleasure with my audience, and with my students.

I am a member of the music faculty at Holyoke Community College, (Holyoke, MA) where I teach jazz and contemporary voice lessons. I've also taught at Greenfield Community College. I've taken master classes with Jane Monheit, Karrin Allyson, Giacomo Gates. I co-presented a master class in jazz performance with guitarists John Stowell and Draa Hobbs.

I LOVE teaching. That moment when a student's eyes light up, and they suddenly "get" a new concept, or a new technique... that is pure magic for me!

How We Got Started

A lifelong singer and flutist, my first music teacher played in the pit band at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Because of his careful training, I learned to balance technique with expression, and always to play or sing with musical intention.

Since those early days I've performed at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, in a stone amphitheater in Austria, at jazz festivals and at hundreds of other venues large and small. Making music and performing is in my blood.

I use Zoom for individual voice lessons. An external mic and headphones makes my sound more clear for my students. Unfortunately there is a lag in sound delivery, so it is really impossible to sing duets or do any kind of sing-along live without some serious cacaphony.   :-o    You can get around that by sending a backing track to your singing client. When they play the track and sing along, the sounds will happily be in synch.   :-D
