What are your go-to's when dealing with anxiety and depression?

My short answer is mindfulness practices and cognitive behavioral therapies (thought stopping, etc). But my longer answer is depression and anxiety can be quite debilitating and my “go to” may be different for different situations. Understanding the root cause of the person’s depression and anxiety will allow me to develop a treatment that works for them, which entails a thorough assessment. People need to know that depression and anxiety is treatable and not something you have to just deal with.
