I am a yoga instructor with over 1000 hours of formal training and over 12 years of teaching experience. I have also been involved in studying human potential, meditation, nutrition and exercise most of my adult life. What I offer students (and what happens to bring me great joy) is sharing how yoga can be of benefit to each individual student. It is so important for students to understand that yoga is broad and vast and has no requirements to get started. No matter your physical ability, health status, age, experience, etc., there is a yoga practice for you. I am excited to show you how yoga can meet you right where are, and how far it can take you in all realms of your health - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
I have always been a person who is very much "in my body". I did gymnastics, dance, swim, cycling and hiking growing up and I never really stopped moving. I did triathlon as a younger adult, and continue to get into the pool and out on the trails regularly.
I have always also been intrigued by yoga. I found my main teacher, Sarah Powers, in 2009 and have studied yin (still) and yang (active) yoga, Buddhist teachings and psycho-spiritual psychology with her off and on since then. I have a 500 Hour certificate with her and a 200 Hour in yoga therapy. I also have a 500 Hour certificate with YogaWorks in Northern California.
I believe that yoga should challenge us physically and mentally, but that does not always mean it has to be "hard". I believe the times that we get very quiet and very still and brighten our awareness can be some of the most potent and productive moments in our practice. I look forward to sharing this ancient and contemporary practice with you!
