Johan Rust, jewelry designer and artist at Jewelry by Johan, has proved himself to be a true pioneer in the jewelry industry. He has forged his path to distinctive jewelry by using unique and often unused materials to create his stunning jewelry designs. Materials include meteorites, wood, dinosaur bones, and deer antlers, to name only a few.

In addition to unusual materials, Jewelry by Johan also makes use of more traditional precious metals and popular alternatives such as titanium, tungsten and black ceramic. Another unique product offering is the interchangeable ring collection, which allows the owner to change different ring inlays without any work from a jeweler.

Jewelry by Johan is and always has been a family-owned business. It got its humble start as an Etsy shop with Johan and son-in-law Kevin handcrafting rings in a cozy one-car garage. Today, the company employs 30 people, including Johan's daughter Leanne, and its 10,000 square foot design and manufacturing center is located in Oakdale, Minn.
