In 2009 we realized that we were losing many heroes in the African American community and that they needed to be honored. Dancers in their 40's and 50's have powerful stories to tell and we realized that we could honor these great's stories and contributions to the world. Juneteenth celebrations were almost non existent at the time and we realized that communities needed ways to come together to celebrate diversity, history, inclusion, and build racial harmony. 3 min video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0Q6bfP9Oec
