About Us

After a routine abdominal surgery, a middle-aged patient developed a deep surgical wound infection that went undetected for days. The records were thick with shift notes, but there were critical gaps in wound assessments, delayed interventions, and inconsistent documentation on when the staff noted the infection. The legal team needed clarity — fast. As a **Legal Nurse Consultant specializing in wound care merit reviews**, I conducted a detailed case analysis. I **examined the full medical record**, tracked the wound’s progression, reviewed nursing and physician documentation, evaluated compliance with wound care protocols, and **compared the actions taken to the applicable standard of care**. I identified missed opportunities for earlier intervention and outlined clear, defensible findings that helped the attorney determine the case had substantial merit — or, in some cases, saved them from pursuing one that didn’t.

I provide **objective, clinically sound reviews** that assess wound development, staging, documentation, delays in treatment, provider responsibilities, and causation. My work helps legal teams quickly determine whether a case should move forward — saving time, reducing cost, and building stronger legal strategies backed by **clear, expert medical insight**.

How We Got Started

I got started in case review after years at the bedside, seeing firsthand how wounds — especially pressure injuries and post-surgical complications — could escalate quickly when missing early signs or documentation fell short. I realized that what seemed like minor lapses in care could lead to devastating outcomes for patients and complex legal questions for attorneys. That's when I knew I could make a bigger impact beyond the bedside — by bridging the gap between clinical practice and the legal world. Today, I serve as a trusted resource for attorneys who need clear, clinical insight into wound care cases. I know how to find the facts that matter, connect the dots in the medical record, and explain them in a way that supports sound legal decision-making. Whether you're trying to determine if a case has merit, preparing for deposition, or facing tough questions about standard of care, I'm here to be the voice of clarity in the middle of medical complexity — so you can move forward

This contest is a great way to show who is making a difference in what is happening on Alignable. Social Media is growing, though it will never replace face-to-face because people need people. Sometimes, it isn't easy to get out, but this way, you can still make a difference.  (more) This contest is a great way to show who is making a difference in what is happening on Alignable.
