Corrective is immediate and Preventative is to take actions so it never happens again! As the saying goes, "You will never get a second chance.  An issue perceived or factual must be addressed immediately.  It's how you handle the situation in the moment will make all the difference in the world.  Regardless of the industry, you must instantly address the issue with the Customer! After the Customer leaves, perform an analysis of what, when, why and how it happened. This will provide the basis to implement a Preventative Action so it never happens again.  As for the negative WEB comment, without specifics, put your own positive information out there i.e. Best Product, Best Service, Great Location, Been in Business a hundred years, If it isn't right, we'll make it right!  Good Luck!

Don't try to sell me anything else!"  After inspecting his tires, he did indeed need the two tires.  As I started to write up the invoice for the two tires, he again gruffly addressed me, "Why are you not trying to sale me something else?"  My answer was simple.  In a soft voice with a smile on my face, "Sir, you said two tires and nothing else". Having disarmed his emotions, by the time we were finished, the customer ordered a total of four (4) tires, plus stems and balancing, and a front end alignment.  We ended friends and he promised to return.  Moral of the story is/was, "I listened to the Customer and satisfied his requirements"!

(more) Cash flow to virtually every company, including your customer, is the equivalent to oxygen to every human being.  Without it failure is imminent.  Early up front mutually beneficial and agreed upon financial understanding is as just as important as, Customer Satisfaction/Support, quality and delivery. A professional, strictly business payment process is critical.  The supplier needs to communicate and ensure the client understands the terms of the purchase agreement.  Beginning with simplistic terms such as, "10 net 30" to what the legal ramifications could be at 60, 90 or even 120 days without remittance.  Any deviation from the original written agreements, can be negotiated and therefore obtained in writing and be signed by all parties.  To a small enterprise there is the risk of either borrowing money to make ends meet, costing you even more money and or partial or even your entire projected profit of the transaction or even worse, going delinquent yourself.  Finally, communication, stay professional and above all, inhale plenty of oxygen and breathe!
