Then a 2nd client hired her, so we interact quite often during the month (both of us are remote). She is very responsive, always knows the answer or knows where to find it, and is very helpful. I don't use her services myself as I don't that type of thing, but as a "co-worker" she's very prompt and friendly, with a high work ethic and very trustworthy!"

However, most companies don't need that much work done on their bookkeeping, which is why it's best to hire a freelance bookkeeper. You only pay for what they do, you don't pay holiday pay or stat pay or overhead for them. Even if they work 20 hours a week, it still will save you money. You can find experts in the field who will take care of it without another thought and sometimes bookkeepers will do other things (invoicing, payables, etc) for you, too. (like moi!)

I joined my local Chamber of Commerce and went to every meeting that I possibly could. I also joined a few networking groups. You have to keep going, to start to get to know the people, who will then start remembering you and talking about you to friends and other possible clients. I also did a little ad in a one page coffee newsletter in my area (not a regular paper) that went into coffee shops for people to read, and got some nice business for that. Also contact other accountants and let them know you're looking for clients on the bookkeeping side...Good luck
