Upon retiring as a public-school teacher in 1998, I wanted to continue helping others in areas of their lives where I could be of assistance. I spent 31 years working in the same school district as a Physical Education Teacher and Coach. I enjoyed my career! About 85% of my students were middle to low-income families and 15% from high income families. I worked with students whose parents were single and married. Throughout my career, I often acted as a listener, advocate, and supporter for students and their families during times of difficulty. I am talking about divorce, child custody, domestic violence, drugs, alcohol, and gang activity. Most of these families with legal issues lacked the funds and connections to seek remedies, so they often did not pursue them. On the other hand, wealthy families were always able to access the legal system by either retaining a law firm or lawyer on an annual basis when necessary. After 27+ years, I am still a LegalShield Independent Associate.
