James A. Ketterer, president and founder of Value Dry MD, DC, VA, & Southern DE, grew up on an inactive dairy farm in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
James worked on his first basement waterproofing project before age 12, toting five-gallon pails step-by-step out of his neighbor's dirt floor cellar. Utilizing his strong work ethic and on-the-farm experience, James helped finance his college studies by starting his first business, Beaver Meadow Painting and Staining. Upon arriving home for winter break during his freshman year of college in 1995, he waterproofed the basement of his parent's farmhouse at his father's direction.
After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, he worked at MicroStrategy and YellowBrix, both based in Northern VA. In 2003, he reconnected with a former business partner who expressed interest in having James lead the expansion of his business, and thus, Value Dry MD, DC, VA, and Southern DE was born.
