I am a professional artist with work in Galleries in the KC area. I work in Graphite, Pastel and Oil, and create drawings and paintings which have awards of excellence, and are displayed and for sale in shows. I specialize in Portrait and Figurative work, especially commissioned work of people, animals. Creating an artistic "reflection" of a cherished someone or something.

Several years ago, I retired from the corporate world to paint professionally and so far the new career is great.

My business is probably different in that I am a professional artist specializing in portraits. Generally my "product" gets marketed by word of mouth. Like many of you, my best advertisers are my previous clients. And those are the ones I need to stay in touch with.
I am really good at what i do. My portraits are very realistic likenesses in oil or graphite with pastel coloring fine art pieces, and reflect the personality/character of the subject I paint or draw. My focus is to tell the story of my subject.

What Donald Philip said... and as an artist, building a professional online image. An artist's market is broad and narrow all at the same time. We have to let an entire area know what we do, but there are only a few who are interested in a fine art product or a portrait.
