I spend 14 years in professional aviation, followed by 20 years as a small business owner. I worked through the different phases of buying, managing, and selling - all while raising a family and managing 3 family-owned rental homes.

I made a lot of mistakes, which allowed me to learn a lot. Over time I figured things out and became completely debt free.

With debts no longer confiscating my paychecks, I could work less and focus on what I was really passionate about - and good at.

I began writing a book on personal finance (published on Amazon Dec, 2022 - Household Finance 101) and founded Nielsen Financial Counseling on New Year's Day 2022.

Today I teach small business owners and professionals specific frameworks and strategies around their personal finance.
