At-Home Hospice believes that everyone should have the option to complete life's journey in the comfort and dignity of their own home, surrounded by those who care about them. Our mission is to provide compassionate home-based health care to individuals and their families as they face end-of-life and to live life more comfortably with chronic illness.
We have been providing care to many children of all ages with varying diseases, conditions, and care needs. We work in the child’s home and or their school to keep their symptoms managed and ensure their safety.
Since its foundation in 2004, At-Home Hospice has provided cares to thousands of patients in the Ottawa Champlain region as well up the valley and yonder out east.
AHH started after the owner returned home from a trip to Uganda. Having had the opportunity to study methods of practice of palliative care in the city and in the villages she returned home with a vision to provide care to clients at home. With years of experience working , studying and practicing palliative care and home care, it was decided to set up a healthcare agency to provide dedicated care for people who needed nursing care and supportive care right in their own home.
Working with the support and references of hospice staff and community doctors and a group of palliative community nurses the business was started around the dining room table!!
