Ask the applicant what they do when it's slow? Ask them what they have done for guests that is beyond the scope of the daily duties? I think it's a culture that is created with your senoir employess and what they get away with. If other employees aren't team oriented then it will trickle down....

You have the right attitude that anything I ask you to do I have done myself, but I try to do it on a weekly basis so I might spend 15 minutes hanging with dishwashers to help them. Remember new hires will say anything to try and get a job, there true colors come out in 3-4 weeks, so in that time it is vital that get the message you are trying to convey. Make sure the training is done by the people who have ownership, make them feel welcome but also keep them close to the vest. Remember give them a inch they will take a yard. Then it becomes a cancer.

I think there a very reputable company that most people use when traveling. They allow you set up a profile of your business and issues with reviews that are biased they will handle and remove. Not every review is 5 stars so they are fair and basically never ask the business to advertise. Most of...

I think there a very reputable company that most people use when traveling. They allow you set up a profile of your business and issues with reviews that are biased they will handle and remove. Not every review is 5 stars so they are fair and basically never ask the business to advertise. Most of my guests said they used trip advisor when traveling. Compared to Yelp which a monster I think they have such bad press, has ben sued twice all the way up to surpreme court. They block reviews for not apparent reason, mixing bad and good. They stong are you into advertising, then if you do then stop they remove the reviews that you received for what ever reason. Trip advisor has alot of features to enhance you business and all free.
