About Us
It's even difficult for myself to believe, but as of 012/25, I have more than 1400 five-star reviews and 1 four-star! This is a combination of reviews from Google, TrustPilot, etc. I have been helping folks with computer support and repair services online only since 2007. Prior to this, I worked for a local hospital as "the" IT guy. I am especially popular with students and seniors because of my patience, friendliness, flat rate, and the fact that I never charge if it is bad news. I tend to be especially good with seniors.
How We Got Started
I was the IT for The Rehabilitation Institute at Santa Barbara until 2000 when I left and launched my consulting business. I initially went on site to homes and businesses. In 2007 I switched to online only. Why? Lets just say welcome to the disposable world. Unless it's a Mac, if I can't help it's likely not going to be worth repairing. And I just could never charge someone a "Diagnostic fee" when I can't help them. Honesty and fairness have worked well for me.

Google has updated the Other restricted businesses policy on third-party consumer technical support. The update clarifies that we will allow advertising for the sale of consumer technology where the landing page might contain navigational features related to technical support.
In other words unless you sell equipment or products, you cannot advertise on Google.
I usually just ask them to look at my reviews. Being an online only service I have found reviews to be invaluable in gaining the trust of a new customer.

Google discriminates against 3rd party tech support so were not allowed to advertise on Google. However I post on My Business daily. Important to add photos also.

Not using Meetup during Covid. Linkedin is a great tool to connect with not only people you know and have done business with, but with your connections connections as well.

There was a time around 2000-2007 where Bartering Clubs were showing up everywhere. Turned out there were to many legal and tax issues and they quickly disappeared. I have never really bartered my computer repair services, however I once repaired a homeless mans laptop in exchange for BBQ Chicken.
