Mark Lambert is a change agent on the national and global stage. Through creativity and expansive collaboration building, he has led the development of sustainable organizations in healthcare, education, science, and wellbeing. He has also made enduring contributions in communications and the entertainment industry—where his career began.

His methodology: listen, understand culture, identify champions, define mission, build mutuality of vision among all stakeholders, generate momentum for a call-to-action and manage existing and/or purpose-built delivery systems.

Scientific Research and Healthcare

Lambert is Founding Director of Innovation at the Center for Bioelectronic Medicine at the Karolinska Institutet (home of the Nobel Prize) where he advises on strategic planning, relationship building and communications. For eight years, he consulted to the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research (the research enterprise of Northwell Health), providing strategic planning and communications expertise and serving as Chief of Staff as Dr. Kevin Tracey introduced bioelectronic medicine to the world.

Among accomplishments emerging from the Feinstein, Lambert created and served as Founding CEO of the Sepsis Alliance, the leading philanthropy dedicated to patient advocacy and public awareness of sepsis. He was also Founding Executive Director of the Global Sepsis Alliance which, within 18 months of inception, represented more than 600,000 caregivers in 63 countries—today 1 million and 70 respectively. Standardized protocols for both the developed and developing worlds now save hundreds of thousands of lives annually—10,000 at New York’s Northwell Health System alone.

Education and Foundation Leadership

Minister and prolific author, Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, whose works include The Power of Positive Thinking, recruited Lambert to become Founding President & COO of Positive Communications, Inc., which he led in creating award-winning written, audio, and video life skills programming for children, parents and teachers. By building consensus state-by-state among governors, superintendents of education, principals, teachers and PTA organizations; gaining support from Rotary International for in-classroom use; and fundraising through the Positive Thinking Foundation, Lambert implemented the program nationally. Subsequently its efficacy was validated by a Kellogg Foundation evaluation.

Lifelong Learning, Hospice and Warfighters

▪ Working with the National PTA and its 50 state presidents ,developed an IBM-sponsored lifelong learning program.

▪ With Steven Speilberg’s Starbright Foundation and Children’s Hospice International, co-developed an early interactive
project in support of terminally ill children and their families.

▪ While consulting to the UCLA Graduate School of Education, authored a coaching system for Naval personnel use in
virtual combat environments.

▪ Supported Pentagon programs to better serve families of wounded warriors with PTSD and long-term disability

▪ Founded an NPO dedicated to serving psychologically wounded combatants through the“science and service of the
healing power of song.”

Entrepreneurialism

Some of Lambert’s innovation skills are demonstrated by his work at the emergence of the home video phenomenon. As Senior Vice-President of Development and Production at Karl-Lorimar Home Video (Jane Fonda Workout), he conceived, packaged and produced more than 100 programs. Among these was a library of co-ventured, cross-marketed video translations of popular magazines. Another industry-first was the creation of “sponsored” projects for which production costs were covered and distribution was supported by cross-marketing. These original “edu-tainment” programs featured products and spokespeople for Ford, General Foods, Dunlop and others. Lambert later became President & COO of premier video producer/distributor Wood, Knapp & Company.

As a serial entrepreneur, he conceived, funded and operated start-ups in media, light manufacturing and e-commerce. These included Outdoorsman Audio, Inc., a for-profit vehicle for inspiring ethical behaviors among young enthusiasts afield. Distribution was supported by all 50 state systems of education, the federal government and 15 industry and philanthropic leaders.
While serving annually as a judge of the Anderson School (UCLA)

Business Plan Competition, Lambert supported the launch of BigPicture Investors, LLC, a Los Angeles-based angel investing entity offering early-stage financing, management expertise and assistance with the formation of growth capital.

Film, Television, and Broadway

Mark Lambert’s career began as a performing artist with guest-starring roles on popular television series. He worked one- on-one with Bob Fosse on his Academy Award-winning “Best Picture,” Cabaret. In the same year, he worked with Harold Prince and Stephen Sondheim, originating a co-starring role in the Tony Award-winning “Best Musical,” A Little Night Music, and completing a run of more than 600 performances on Broadway.

Behind the scenes, Mr. Lambert wrote in dramatic narrative and advertising forms, “script-doctored,” wrote musical arrangements and earned “Full Director” status in the Director’s Guild of America apprenticing in 3-Camera production at CBS Television City.

“Story-telling” expertise was the platform from which his business career was launched, first as a press agent for award- winning artists and major films, then with Rogers & Cowan Corporate Public Relations, specializing in executive coaching, event staging and crisis management for Fortune 500 companies.
