About Us

We are a bit different than other daycares in that we believe it takes a village (both canine and human) to grow a pup into a balanced dog. In order to accomplish this we not only work side by side with a canine staff but take great care to maintain a mix of senior, adult, young adult, adolescent, and puppy canine village citizens. Dogs play freely together all day long and have full access to 2 acres fenced in.

We are small and have always done profit sharing with our employees.  Covid19 has hurt us a lot and we are nowhere near the income we were at this time last year.  Our employees understand this and understand that when money comes in we share.  But we can't share what we don't have.  Imposing a... (more) We are small and have always done profit sharing with our employees.  Covid19 has hurt us a lot and we are nowhere near the income we were at this time last year.  Our employees understand this and understand that when money comes in we share.  But we can't share what we don't have.  Imposing a one size fits all doesn't help small business and subsequently doesn't help the people who depend on small business for employment.

It is hard for people to get away in the evenings.  Most of us are working 12hr plus days already.  Unless meetings are immediately relevant (meet a need) people are not likely to attend.  Survey your audience and find out what the needs are.  What do people need/want to learn about in order to... We are co-owners of K-9 Haven, LLC a dogcentric vacation rental in the Finger Lakes, NY.  We are having a hard time targeting the correct audience; people who want to vacation with their dog.  We have set up a Facebook page and Instagram site.  Our problem as small business owners is finding the... (more) We are co-owners of K-9 Haven, LLC a dogcentric vacation rental in the Finger Lakes, NY.  We are having a hard time targeting the correct audience; people who want to vacation with their dog.  We have set up a Facebook page and Instagram site.  Our problem as small business owners is finding the time to constantly post.  We have taken several free online courses and they all give the advice you have.  But what is lacking is how to actually target your audience.  Any advice to do so?

Given that we need to screen potential clients to see if they are a good fit, the process is: potential client calls or emails (those that call are called back asking for emails); potential client is sent a screening instrument,  mission statement, description of practice, and price sheet; based... (more) Given that we need to screen potential clients to see if they are a good fit, the process is: potential client calls or emails (those that call are called back asking for emails); potential client is sent a screening instrument,  mission statement, description of practice, and price sheet; based on the screening instrument the potential new client is invited to schedule an evaluation for their dog;   if the dog and client pass part one of the evaluation, a schedule is set up for the dog to start regular daycare where the first day is part 2 of the evaluation.

Like some others here, we too only "dress" dogs for utility and only when necessary, i.e. bright orange in hunting season. But there are folks that like to fashion dress. Not to many in my neck of the woods; upstate NY. Looking at your website what you have going for you is both human clothing and dog clothing. People are always looking for creative t-shirts. I could see your products retailing well in tourist locations as an impulse buy.
