My first real experience with video happened in 1972 when I was teaching Computer Science, and I had a student ask if I could be the speaker for his video class on the History of Computers. Since then, I have purchased and used more video cameras than I can count and done many documentary videos, primarily for companies and organizations I work for or am a member of. Recently, I was asked to videotape military veterans, and the final videos will go to the Library of Congress. I finally decided to shift my videography avocation to being my vocation, focusing on capturing Family History. PS: I still do computer work but it is not my focus.

In 2023, I was asked to take over videoing military veterans. Since I am a veteran, I realized that many of us rarely, if ever, talk about our experiences. While doing the filming, we would have family members present, and they frequently said that they had no idea what their father, mother, or sibling ever did. That prompted me to think about my own life and the things I have done and not shared with family. Why not capture more of these stories so they can be shared at least with family.
