Angela B. Brown
Yeshua's House
Yeshua's House Transitional Homes are located in Petersburg, VA. We are a non-denominational, board-run nonprofit program for women in financial transition, especially dedicated to those who are recovering from abuse. Residents participate in counseling sessions, financial management classes, parenting sessions and a support group. Single women and mothers with children may stay up to 18 months in our residential homes as long as they are engaged in the program.
Angela Brown's mother was basically orphaned at the age of 6 when her father beat her mother to death. Upon her mother's death, Angela and her husband Moses dedicated a sum to the establishment of a transitional home where abused women could flee and recover. The first Yeshua's House opened in 2013 and the second in 2017. As of January 2020, 53 women and 35 children have called Yeshua's House home.
