Striving to Thriving is a unique Pain Management Coaching practice for those struggling with chronic pain, desiring to reclaim their life from chronic pain. I am certified as both a Health and Wellness Coach specializing in chronic pain management, and I am certified through the U.S. Pain Foundation to host and conduct chronic pain support groups.
I conduct my services to meet your scheduling demands. I do most coaching through the Zoom platform; some by phone, though Zoom is preferred by most.
If you are tired or frustrated with failed treatments, let’s talk and figure out a patient-centered strategy that will work for you. Every person’s situation is unique to them, so one should expect a health and wellness plan is customized to them as well, based on their needs and desires for their life. The important first step is figuring out exactly what those needs and desires are, and we’ll walk through that process together.
Throughout that process, you are in the driver’s seat, while I uphold or protect your autonomy. Based on your internal motivation, you’ll craft specific goals important to you. You’ll work towards achieving these in obtaining the life you want to live. Ultimately, measurable outcomes are what you’ll use to achieve what you determine to call “success.” For most, this means less pain and improved quality of life, or reclaiming the life you’re intended to live.
My journey started in 2007 with me hanging up-side-down in my truck after it rolled one and a half times, thanks to a woman who found her cell phone call more important than traffic.
Ultimately, this led to the first of multiple spinal cord stimulator implants to manage a rare pain condition, CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome). Thanks to my pain specialist, Dr. Lisa Jo Stearns, she inspired me to take what I learned to help others; and now I am here for you.
I am the author of “Striving to Thriving-A practical resource for reclaiming your life from chronic pain.” It is based on established pain neuroscience and addresses gaps identified in the NIH’s 2019 Best Practices, Updates, Gaps, Inconsistencies, and Recommendations report. I wrote it as one who lives with and overcame CRPS versus an academic, simply writing about pain, and now available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble (bn.com).
