Most of all you need to establish a good relationship with the client, find out what is their problem and/or pain and educate them on the solution. It may take a number of questions from you to figure out that problem. Become a partner with them in the solution, offer some alternatives and then get closure. Keep them posted  on the progress as you proceed, always under promise and over deliver.

The Team, the Group, the organization can accomplish a great many things when there is a focus on goals and objectives that the entire team participants buys into for success.  A team can accomplish more  than anyone individual. Successful teams are always looking for the best people for their organization, project, immediate and longer term goals. Looking for or being the "worst" person to add to the team is a sure formula for disaster.
