I’m very familiar with his program, as I signed up for it a few years ago. I had already been a bookkeeper for 18 years, but signed up because I thought it would give me a leg-up when starting my business. The information that was presented in the marketing was very well-thought out and presented nicely; however, I thought the bookkeeping knowledge portion lacked quite a bit. You can’t expect someone to learn a new profession as detailed as bookkeeping to be able to do it in only a matter of a couple of months. I spent 21 years getting to where I am now, learning from many different industries and people. Unfortunately, I’ve found that there are now thousands of people who have taken that course that didn’t learn anything. They’re asking questions that would make you believe they’d never taken a single bookkeeping course. The common thing I hear from their students is that they lack a tremendous amount of confidence and are all ready to quit because they can’t figure it out or understand how to learn it by way of 20-minute to 1-hour long videos. It says a lot when I have people that have taken the course and have no idea what a journal entry is and why they shouldn’t allow their clients to enter them. I’m glad that you have had a great deal of success because of that program. I wish everyone did; unfortunately it seems that the rate of amazing success after receiving certification is few and far between.
