David Libby
Oak Creek Relational Counseling Center
I'm David Libby, a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT
#158121, supervised by Stephen Polin, LMFT #7861) at Oak Creek Relational Counseling Center in Pleasant Hill. I work with individuals and couples navigating relationship struggles, anger, addiction, substance use, and major life transitions — in person locally or via telehealth anywhere in California.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and relational, drawing on Emotionally Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, and CBT. I especially enjoy working with men who've learned to handle hard emotions alone and are ready for a different way forward. Clients tell me I'm calm, practical, and easy to open up to — you set the pace, I walk beside you.
Before this chapter, I spent 25+ years in B2B tech PR and analyst relations, so I understand what it's like to carry stress quietly while keeping everything running. If you or someone in your network is feeling stuck or overwhelmed, I'd welcome the referral — first consultations are free.

In 2015, the organization sharpened its focus and relaunched as Oak Creek *Relational* Counseling Center, putting couples and relationship work at the center of its practice alongside its longtime individual and family services. More than 30 years later, we're still in Pleasant Hill, still training the next wave of clinicians under close supervision, and still built around the
