When it comes to giving estimates it is my inclination to bid a little to the high side. We would rather do the job correctly than quickly. When I bid low there are usually unforeseen circumstances that arise beyond any ones control. When estimated to the higher end I have the opportunity to lower the price and the customer is happy rather than to come in over estimate and have to raise the expected cost which isn't always in the clients budget.
