CPA’s are great and we all need them, but they do come will baggage. Their attitude leaves something to de desired, so it must be the training they all receive. I’ve been in business since 1965, and on the brighter side most have assisted me with the proper direction in tax preparation for my more than $Million Business.
On the other hand that is all they know is the tax law, but what they should know is the tax law, incorporated business knowledge. More than 90% of all CPA’s take the life of a business owner in their hands, and cannot offer internal business advice to increase profits, and sales, except to raise your prices?
I offer free of charge business seminars for different business groups since 1975. Several years ago through a third party I was asked to present a seminar for a group of CPA’s on business analysis. Needless to say my appearance was not received well as a non CPA outsider, oh boy did I got my ass kicked right up front.
But after a very short time I could see what I was in for till I asked several business questions, related to business analysis. Without hesitation there was no quick response, and suddenly they had an interest in my presentation.
Many times over the fault falls with the owner who only makes contact with their accountant no more than twice per year, so what do you expect when their business fails, and reaches the national level of 63% failed. These are the reasons that every accountant, CPA, and all business financial planners should be required to understand the theory of internal business analytics.
