We recommend that business owners review their financials monthly which includes their expenses. If they are not the person preparing their own records and utilizing an internal accountant, it is imperative as it is much easier to remember things that occurred in the past month versus a quarter, half year or even year. The other issue that you must pay attention to if you are not preparing your own records is to make sure your accounts, all third party accounts, are being reconciled on a monthly basis. Typically your records are about 85% accurate in doing so with the other 15% coming in with classification errors for the most part. This aids in you having the best understanding of cash flow which can alert you to challenges and even fraud or embezzlement in your company. The best bet to manage expenses is to prepare an annual budget and on a monthly basis print comparative reports. This highlights changes in expenses quickly and you can pinpoint problem areas. Generally, on average, it takes about 3 years to gain a client in a service business after the first point of contact. For products, you need many reviews and people that have raving reviews about your products. Perhaps free samples if it's a product? Any business is very hard to start from the...

Any business is very hard to start from the ground up, a lot of effort, hours and good old fashioned hard work is what it takes!
Inattentiveness - everyone wants a fast, short (and cheap!) answer which is impossible in complex matters that we deal with. People are not patient enough anymore to get things right, they just want it done. Not a good combination.

Nothing initially, we use that time to continue work projects. If the personal becomes habitually late or cancels we fire them as a client. They have no respect for your time or you if they do this consistently.
