I have watched our downtown grow up over the past 25 years. We now have the BEST city manager , we have a great mayor and passionate city council. We also have very committed and involved citizens that truly care about the direction of our city. The whole greater Prescott region is growing and we are never going to stop the growth. We can certainly respect the land and environment plus hold on to our western heritage. Downtown Prescott and the courthouse plaza needs to keep her charm that so many people are looking for from memories of yesteryear. The Prescott downtown partnership formed in 1999 in conjunction with many other organizations and non profits does a great job. But remember living in paradise begins in your own heart.
I have learned in my 68 years that Darwin (or whoever) said it is not the smart or the strong that survive but those that can adapt! I see so many folks my age that are still stuck back in the 1980's and 1990's marketing themselves. Today you must adapt. Take classes, learn about Snap Chat,...

I see so many folks my age that are still stuck back in the 1980's and 1990's marketing themselves. Today you must adapt. Take classes, learn about Snap Chat, become an influencer on FB, make funny meme's for Instagram.
Take videos on your phone and upload. Plus don't sit on your butt at home behind the computer. Get involved with your local city council, go to meetings, work out at the YMCA, volunteer at the chamber of commerce and meet new people. Reinvent yourself like Madonna or Cher. Be authentic. People see through fake folks.

A great networking opportunity in the greater Prescott region is to attend the complimentary Sangria Social at Forest Villas Hotel. Located up on the hill across from Costco. The hotel offers fresh made Sangria, yummy/healthy appetizers from Goods from the Garden plus a singing cowboy! Each month the hotel honors a different local non profit. Great way to meet a new group of people each month. Held the second Thursday of the month from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Next one is June 13th. Bring a friend or colleague and come relax and unwind. We could all use a nice break in today's rush rush world.

Remember you only have one life and one body. Carve out time for YOU! Walk or go to the gym or get off of your computer and stretch for 5 minutes and make this part of your time management routine. The better your body the better your mind to help you with more efficient time management. Keep track of everything you can on your phone. Take your phone everywhere you go for business or personal. There has been no better time in history for us to be more effective with our time. The other thing is try to laugh and have fun each day. Good luck!

I have spent over 30 years in the hotel business. When I was a little girl my dad would tuck us kids in to bed at night. He would say, "Now, don't let the bed bugs bite". Back then it was a joke. Today.............in the 21st century that is no longer a joke! Hotel's have to work extremely hard to keep their rooms so very clean. Of course at Forest Villas Hotel (this boutique hotel is the greater Prescott region best kept secret) has the cleanest rooms ever! We are located across from Costco up on the hill with the green awnings over our balconies. Every room has an outdoor balcony!! Attend our Sangria Social the 2nd Thursday of every month. The next one is January 10th at 5:30 pm. Then you can see for yourself our super clean rooms!
