My first few customers were gained through referrals, direct mail, and phone calls. Referrals are really the lifeblood of small business, so I continue to network as much as I can. It depends is the best answer I can give. I'd suggest a video testimonial, and explain how it will benefit both parties with the subsequent publicity. Make it easy for them by outlining what you what them to say, or provide them the interview question(s) you will ask them. I use Hubspot to set up Inbound Marketing campaigns, which means using social media sites to share useful content with your prospects, in return for their contact information, so they keep coming back to your site and establish you as their go to company for information. As you nurture, them, you can run specials to entice them buy or contact you for more information. Be sure to always include calls to action in your posts, be it, call you, email you, or drop by your store. It usually takes 5-8 contacts with a prospect before they will buy from you. I hope this helps. Mike https://MichaelisHBSU.vcardinfo.com

My first customer was through a personal introduction and an in-person meeting. I have gotten many customers through referrals, so those are the best, but nowadays, the advent of social media makes customer acquisition more diverse. The best is still meeting people face to face, but I have gotten customers through social media posts, email responses, and from online job boards like Thumbtack.com Marketing your business when you are new is the most important thing you can do, so allocate a good portion of your time to marketing, using both online and offline methods.
