Wee Care Children's Enrichment Program, Inc.
Wee Care provides a free preschool education for economically disadvantaged children equipping them with the social, emotional, cognitive skills and confidence to succeed in kindergarten.
Every three years Wee Care enrolls a new group of two-year-old children, and works with this same group of children through age five; providing educational stability to the students and cultivating stronger relationships with students' families. This consistency, combined with reaching kids at an earlier age, is what makes Wee Care unique.
The stability this continuity provides gets them ready for Kindergarten in a way many people in our area simply cannot afford. Wee Care has grown from 1 class to 2 classes and now serves 20 children.
It’s easy to take for granted what a preschool experience can do to help a child prepare for success in the school system. What Wee Care does day in and day out in the classroom focuses on not just the academic parts of preschool but simple things like learning to share, stand in a line, participate in group activities.
