Driven by a passion for reading, I began writing at age seven. By eighth grade, I entered journalism and won a middle school literary award. In high school, I wrote 10 articles per issue, became Features Editor, and learned layout. At 16, living in El Dorado County with access to Sacramento and Bay Area airwaves, I fell in love with Hip Hop. Influenced by legends like E-40, Too $hort, 2Pac, and Nas, I began rapping my poetry over keyboard tracks, recording tapes with my sisters singing backup. I graduated with honors in English, Journalism, and Choir.
While studying college journalism in 2001, I worked as a state editorial assistant managing media content. That same year, I launched UBO MAG to spotlight independent music, art, and culture. To expand my impact, I established UBO ENT in 2007 to book showcases and provide nationwide PR for indie talent. Today, UBO MAG marks nearly 26 years and UBO ENT celebrates over 19 years of independent media success.
