I totally agree with Troy Conant's answer post regarding this issue. "Vehicle signage is primarily for BRANDING. The main objective here is to develop top of mind awareness... when someone thinks about seeking your services, you want your company name to pop in their mind first. Branding your company takes time and exposure. Branding does not (always) produce immediate results. Most people today will not pick up their phone and call immediately; however, when they hear about you, see your name/logo, etc., repeatedly...when they're ready for your service, that's when they'll look into you more and connect with you from there." I do have magnetic signs for my car with our Logo and our phone # to cover exactly that (and won't hurt the future resale value of my well cared for car). Our transport vans have large permanent signage as they are used to pick up clients and must be easily recognizable for our clients' safety. Vehicle signage may not be appropriate for some businesses, but I believe it's necessary for identification purposes for our type of service as well as having a familiar name and logo to attract future disabled clients that may need our transportation services. I tried to design it to appear neatly and I personally didn't think of it as looking tacky..
