People still buy from people, and it is still true today that most reps do not stay in touch with their customers after the sale.  We make it a point to stay in touch with both OUR customers and our COMPETITION's customers.  99% of the time, we have more conversations with our competitors'... (more) People still buy from people, and it is still true today that most reps do not stay in touch with their customers after the sale.  We make it a point to stay in touch with both OUR customers and our COMPETITION's customers.  99% of the time, we have more conversations with our competitors' customers than they do, and when they are ready to make a change, we come in with more rapport than the encumbent.  What would I call this?  Consistent communication.  There are a ton of good products out there, so we offer better, consistent personal service.

Over the years, I have found that little incentives/rewards go a LONG way to motivate sales reps to put in the extra effort to exceed their expectations and potential.  Gift cards have been a very cost-effective method to incent performance.
