Compeer Rochester: Mental wellness through the healing power of friends.

Compeer Rochester provides and supports friendships that help adults, youth, and Veterans recover from mental illness. The Compeer supportive friendship model, created in Rochester, New York in 1973, has been replicated all over the country and around the world. Mental health experts have praised the Compeer model as a highly effective an essential complement and supplement to clinical mental health treatment. Both clients and volunteers regularly report that their Compeer match experience has profoundly improved and enriched their lives.
