About Us

Good Earth Pottery is the workshop of potter Rodney Lemonier. One of the founding members of The Good Earth Community and Pottery at Thibodaux, La. in 1972. Rodney and Judy's studio is now Located on the Ozark Plateau in SW Missouri where they moved in 2014 after spending 40 years at Evening Shade in Northern Arkansas.

My work, in clay, like any honest art form, is an expression of my experiences, my background and my environment, both past and present. Growing up in New Orleans steeped in a culture centered in food and music, pottery has become a natural means of expressing those under- pinnings. The rhythm and flavors unique to that place have worked their way into the form and function of the vessels I create. I am fascinated by the interplay between idea and execution between heart and hand. I am inspired by the visual cues delivered through music and the expression of those cues in the fluid nature of the clay. Climaxing ultimately in the marriage of form and function, the emptying of this vessel into those, is my life’s work.

I simply point out the positive aspects of my work and listen to the concerns of the client. When those two issues are addressed I allow the dynamic of the exchange to work and pray for a positive response .
