I know a great deal about the plan, and I am able to refer people to another company if mine does not work. I found that I could not give the kind of service I want to offer trying to know everything about several different companies.
I enrolled for Colonial Life employee benefits for several years on a national basis. These were voluntary benefits such as short term disability, accident, cancer, life insurance, etc. through paycheck deductions.

My first question to an employer when I was trying to land an account was, "What is the name of your employee benefits person?" Most could not answer, almost all employees could not answer. My people got my card and an email from me reminding them to do their wellness exams, etc. My clients knew my NAME! I still get calls from former clients of ten years previous. Customer service and knowing who to call during the year is the key to your question. Always, sitting down with each employee every year, but touching them during the year with emails, posters in the break room, etc. so that they can get in touch with you as their benefits expert is the greatest one piece of information that I can pass along.
