Liner ships with thousands of containers arrive at seaports around the globe on any given day. How does containerized shipping work? Container shipping services operate according to fixed routes and schedules. Containers are securely locked and sealed to safeguard their freight from the port of departure to arrival at your designated facility. At either port, dockworkers use cranes to load and unload your container from the ship.

Our services can include arranging for a truck to transport your container between your factory and departure port, and between the arrival port and your warehouse or distribution facility. We also manage custom clearance and documentation at origin and destination. LESS-THAN-FULL CONTAINER

How does LTL shipping work? If you don’t have a full container to ship, we consolidate your shipment with the LTL shipments of other customers. By consolidating multiple less-than-container loads into a full container, customers share the cost of the full container and can ship lower volumes at cost-effective full-container rates. RO-RO SERVICES

As a ro-ro or roll-on roll-off, shipping company, VinWorld offers roll-on roll-off shipping for cars, trucks, buses, boats, motor home, tractors, heavy equipment, and oversized wheeled cargo. While vehicles can be shipped via container, ro-ro shipping is the easiest, safest and least expensive way to ship vehicles.

At the port of loading, your vehicle is driven up a ramp and secured inside a RORO vessel. A RORO vessel is a ship designed specifically to accommodate vehicles and other large wheeled cargo while offering protection from wind and water. When the vessel reaches your overseas destination, port workers simply roll the freight down the built-in ramp and off the vessel.

While major ports around the world can handle RORO shipments, not every overseas destination can accept this type of transport. Container shipping, however, can get your vehicle(s) to virtually anywhere in the world. VinWorld provides a containerized vehicle shipping option as well.

Shipping by air provides several benefits. Air is the fastest mode of transport available. Your cargo remains in good condition during the move, making it ideal for high-value goods. And it offers greater flexibility in the stocking and inventory processes.

ACTUAL VS. DIMENSIONAL WEIGHT

Airlines calculate shipping costs by dimensional, or chargeable, weight because low-density packages are unprofitable for air cargo carriers. Dimensional weight is calculated as length x width x height / dimensional factor, where the dimensional factor is typically 166 cubic inches per pound. If a shipment’s dimensional weight is greater than its gross weight, then the actual weight is not relevant and the freight carrier will charge based on dimensional weight.

WAREHOUSING

VinWorld offers freight and cargo warehousing and distribution services through our liaisons with a network of third-party vendor partners. The facilities we utilize are strategically located across the country to provide convenient proximity to transport and easy access for equipment. When you request this service, we select a facility of the right size and type that is situated where you need it.

VinWorld accommodates shipments or orders on a short- or long-term basis, and as the service provider, we accept full responsibility for your inventory. From consolidation/deconsolidation and pick-and-pack to transloading and cross-docking, we manage your products to help you improve your supply chain.

PROJECT CARGO

A customer who chooses both our freight forwarding and 3rd party logistics services is putting the responsibility for managing the details of transportation, inventory, paperwork and regulations compliance in our capable hands.
