We are closed to visitors at Loyalist House, an historic house museum until at least August when we will review our options. No income is going to be tough. Other museums have recently opened but not us as yet.

I like meeting people face-to-face when I speak with them. I also use internet as well, but prefer in-person meetings.

We are a non-profit that owns Loyalist House, an historic home that is open to the public by appointment or from July 1--to end of October--the cruise ship season. This year NO CRUISE SHIPS. There had been predictions that this year would be our best cruise ship season. We hire students under gov't. grants but problem is their presence in the House and activities that would be beneficial to both the students and the Historical Society. We had only 30 memberships paid so far this year.

We are a seasonal business We open end of June and finish at end of August--with our students. However, volunteers come in the fall --Sept--Nov. for the cruise ship business. We were to have had a banner year for cruise ships but we not have any come in this year. The province has cancelled the April, May and June ships and may cancel the entire season.
As we are a seasonal site we are not currently impacted. However, we rely on tourists. Our cruise ship season has been cancelled until July 1--a loss of 22 ships. When July 1 comes the port may cancel more ships scheduled in the summer. The fall is huge for us with the largest number of ships...

As we are a seasonal site we are not currently impacted. However, we rely on tourists. Our cruise ship season has been cancelled until July 1--a loss of 22 ships. When July 1 comes the port may cancel more ships scheduled in the summer. The fall is huge for us with the largest number of ships arrive then. The loss of cruise ships also affects the economy of our province. The Loyalist House is run by dedicated volunteers and we must watch every penny to keep us afloat.
