Scarlet Letters is a one-person, two-hat company providing both copywriting and marketing/brand strategy services. Although I have been active in the Boston market for years, the Scarlet Letters name is not well known as most of my work is in a freelance capacity with graphic designers, web providers, and marketing/advertising agencies. A few years out of business school I became the VP of Account Management for a large digital marketing agency…and realized it wasn’t what I wanted. I loved the customer relationship and strategic marketing sides of the business—still do—but I wanted more. I wanted to write, and I wanted to be my own boss. So, I started by own business. As a writer based in Nathaniel Hawthorne country (Salem, MA), the name Scarlet Letters was a no brainer. Unfortunately, a porn site had already claimed the name for its URL!
