I offer clients a supportive, caring environment to identify solutions for growth and well-being. Together we can identify specific problems and create common sense strategies that have high probabilities of success. The areas often discussed in therapy include relationships, substance abuse, career frustrations, illness and life transitions, and anxiety and depression. By approaching psychotherapy through a person-centered, solution-focused, skills based perspective, I can assist individuals from diverse backgrounds.
I utilize worksheets and handouts to arm clients with practical evidenced based skills to support change efforts. My practice incorporates a variety of theoretical orientations; primary are Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for almost 40 years in various health care and mental health settings. I have been working in this current private practice with another therapist for over a year, and am excited to be able to provide both in person and on line counseling sessions.
