I use Zoom for meetings; LinkedIn for making new contacts. The LinkedIn strategy was what I did before the COVID crisis; the Zoom is new to me. I've also done a mass mailing to former customers, and plan a mailing to people I've met at networking events whose contact information I have.  (more) I use Zoom for meetings; LinkedIn for making new contacts. Not terribly useful- most people use Google or other online searches to find businesses these days. But a free Yellow Pages listing can't hurt. (more) Not terribly useful- most people use Google or other online searches to find businesses these days. But a free Yellow Pages listing can't hurt.

I'm in an industry (academic tutoring) where staff (employees or contractors) will steal customers at the drop of a hat, in addition to the problem all businesses face - that of staff leaving as soon as you've trained them. That's a huge reason why I have no staff, but am about to "hire" my best friend to do some of my admin/bookkeeping work. I'd be glad to bring on a high school or college intern where they work in exchange for course credit and job training, as well as a little money, but only after I'd already made my business big enough that I needed someone to perform significant low-level (i.e., not "mission critical" work involving crucial sensitive information and relationships) administrative work on a regular basis. But in a business my size, it's crucial to have experienced and loyal staff, not people who plan to leave and take my business with them.

If you're doing anything that requires a real office, etc., you should have a written plan, and check and revise it on a regular basis.  I do write out budget planning, scheduling, etc., since there's no way to keep track of appointments and expenses without doing that.

Pretty much what the others have posted so far - how to rebuild and improve credit, how to budget wisely. etc. Preventative credit counseling to avoid a need for "credit repair" in the future. Maybe also how to check for inaccuracies in their credit reports and how to fix those problems.  (more) Pretty much what the others have posted so far - how to rebuild and improve credit, how to budget wisely. etc. Preventative credit counseling to avoid a need for "credit repair" in the future. Because they expect to be paid and don't want to have to resort to a collections agency. Most small businesses would rather not risk annoying the customer by sending the debt to collections, and I can't imagine any business would want to pay a collections agency except as a last resort.  (more) Because they expect to be paid and don't want to have to resort to a collections agency. Let them know when you expect to be paid (30 days, 60 days, or immediately after service, or consider asking for a deposit in advance). If payment becomes a problem, stop working until they pay you. Don't be afraid to be labeled "difficult." It's better to be a jerk than a sucker.  (more) Let them know when you expect to be paid (30 days, 60 days, or immediately after service, or consider asking for a deposit in advance).
