About Us
I work for the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Warrior Care Policy, with Headquarters in Alexandria, VA. I am a contractor, working for AFSC/Magellan Federal. My office is at Fort bragg, NC and I cover North Carolina, South Carolina and West Virginia with Military Family Caregiver Support. My Phone number is: (910) 709-2142. My email is: DolanMR@magellanfederal.com. My normal Office Hours are: M-F 0800-1630, however I will go to work anytime to support my clients, who consist primarily of active duty Military Family Caregivers of Wounded, Ill and Injured service members. I also work with disabled veterans and their Caregivers when they are referred to me by other agencies, mainly governmental or non-profits.
How We Got Started
The concept of "PEER Support Coordinator" (my official job title)was conceived in about 2014, because it was noted that active duty Military Family Caregivers were "underserved," to say the least.

We managed to pay off everything except our home mortgage in 2021, so we're in pretty good shape. "Retirement" is really out of the question, though, as there are still plenty of things we'd like to do to upgrade our home.

We don't require masks or vaccinations. Personally, I recommend vax, but NOT boosters. People should not live in fear, even when there real threats. Common sense tells me that people who are sick should stay home, and I'd ask someone who was obviously ill to do just that. COVID is real, but we...

Working for Defense Health Agency's Recovery Coordination Program, my work has not had many ups and downs. If anything, I've gotten busier, as my area of operations has expanded greatly. Disabled veteran families go into crisis and need help, and COVID has not made anything easier for them. ...

Very interesting and getting more interesting every day. I work in the government contracting sector and some of the questions do not apply to me. I'm considered "mission essential," and am in no danger of being laid off or let go permanently. I can work most of the time from home and go to work when I must. I frequently have to meet clients in the community and that is now somewhat limited. I am also technically in the "high-risk" category (over 70 years of age), but am very healthy and the survivor of six or seven so-called "deadly" diseases. Those of us who work directly with the military must be and must remain "resilient" and put our personal problems aside when dealing with the military/veteran population.
