How We Got Started

🚀 The Beginnings: Gauged2 Era

It all started with Gauged2, a dream turned reality, co-founded with a friend and a shared vision. For over a decade, we navigated the exhilarating world of marketing, building a company that was as much about its clients as it was about the joy of creativity. We were fortunate to work with amazing clients like Miley Cyrus, Star2Star, Poo-Pouri, Asics, MyCharge, and so many more... each project a new adventure, each campaign a chance to push the boundaries of what we thought possible.

🌟 Diverging Paths: New Beginnings

In 2015, a new chapter began. Our family made the move to North Carolina and with a desire to dive deep into marketing and video - Today Creative was born.

Make sure to pay attention to building content that is optimized for search - if you want to be found for something, it needs to be talked about on your website. 2. Build out your social media pages. Include the main channels (facebook ,twitter, instagram, linkedin) but also look for other channels that make sense for your business like TikTok, Pinterest, etc. 3. Start creating content. Create video/blog content around your niche. In the example of a jewelry store, you could show people how to wear the jewelry that you offer with different outfits, or tricks for wearing the jewelry in unique ways. Entertain and educate. The content needs to be digestible, shareable, entertaining, and helpful. Post to your website/blog and social media. Use video as much as you can to really show off your product and your personality. 4. Start building an email list for folks that do come in. Maybe even create loyalty and referral incentives that can encourage the word of mouth. 5. Get your business listed in all the location 'citations' or directories. Directories are another tool that customers use to find businesses near them when they have a specific need. Listing your site, phone number, and services on directories like the Yellow Pages and Google Maps can help you reach those most likely to convert. Placing yourself on directories even helps with your search engine rankings. 6. Advertise. Social ads, google ads, local ads, direct mail. If you have budget. If you don't time to get scrappy and find cheap or no cost ways to promote your business. 7. Host Events. If you are a brick and mortar location, a jewelry store for example you could host a free event. Maybe it’s a fun fashion show, or an exclusive look at new jewelry. Guests can learn what you’re all about, try on your jewelry (or eat your cake, look at your artwork, whatever you do..) and have good ol’ fashioned fun. Encourage folks to take photos and ask them to share on social media (tag you and your location). Have fun with it! This is your time to show off your brand personality and build great relationships with your audience. 8. Partner With Other Locals. You could potentially partner with another local business or organization to co-host an event or social contest. If you are starting off small and don’t have a large network, this gives you the opportunity to tie into their customer base. Maybe partner with a local non-profit, and commit to a certain percentage of your sales that can go to them. Ask them to promote to their audience as well – giving you and them more exposure by crossing over to new audiences. You could even simply approach a complementary local business and enquire about a partnered give away – if you’re a jewelry store, maybe you could partner with a makeup brand or clothing brand. 9. Create A Contest. You already have products. So use what you have to gain more fans without spending extra money. Create a contest with an aim to get more user generated content (photo/video contest, etc). Even better, encourage pictures with you, your products or even your location. Make it game, but do it in a way that folks will engage with you or get them through your doors. User generated content is an extremely powerful way to get people to see you as a credible business and bring excitement to your local digital audience.

(more) The obvious.. optimize how you show up in the top 8 ways potential customers are finding you already: Word of mouth: Loyalty and referral incentives can encourage the word of mouth Local advertising: Getting your customer’s attention in the real world through billboards, digital displays, and even flyers. Online, there are hundreds of ways to advertise locally. Look for opportunities that meet your business needs.  Direct mail: Though “snail mail” is often maligned, it’s still effective if done right. Email marketing: The ease of emailing your marketing message to thousands of people at no-to-little cost isn’t to be underestimated. Exclusive deals, and the like that encourage customers to open those emails more regularly, too. Online recommendations: An independent 3rd party voice, especially a respected one with lots of followers, vouching for your business is a significant benefit. Frickin Yelp, Google, and all the the other places can leave their mark on your business, good or bad, can drive you crazy but there are certainly tools out there to help you manage them all in one place. Social media: The online word of mouth, social media helps your customers share their support of your brand and helps you engage them directly. Getting viral is difficult, but maintaining a consistent source of support, answers, and conversation with your community is easier and nearly as effective. Search engines: More and more consumers are using Google to find answers to their questions as well as products and services. By learning how to increase your Google ranking you can get many more organic clicks on your website, leading to more opportunities for conversion. Directories: Directories are another tool that customers use to find businesses near them when they have a specific need. Listing your site, phone number, and services on directories like the Yellow Pages and Google Maps can help you reach those most likely to convert. Placing yourself on directories even helps with your search engine rankings. Now, the not-so-obvious: Host Events: If you are a brick and mortar location, a jewelry store for example you could host a free event. Maybe it’s a fun fashion show, or an exclusive look at new jewelry. Guests can learn what you’re all about, try on your jewelry (or eat your cake, look at your artwork, whatever you do..) and have good ol’ fashioned fun. You could even simply approach a complementary local business and enquire about a partnered give away – if you’re a jewelry store, maybe you could partner with a makeup brand or clothing brand. Create Engaging Content: You’ve heard it. Content is king. Now get creative with how it could work for your business. YouTube is the second most popular search engine next to Google so you could benefit from serving your niche content they want. Serve your niche by helping them, and folks will come your way. Use Social Media Consistently: Social media is free and your audience is spending large amounts of their day on these platforms. With consistent use you can build up a decent following. Be consistent and serve your audience. Provide value. Make sure you’re being ‘social’, though, and not simply promoting your products. Start conversations with your audience! Create A Contest: You already have products.

Are you asking how to promote your marketing site where you sell marketing services to clients - how to market your site for free? Not trying to be a jerk - just confused by the question. Or am I? I think this is dependent on the type of business, no? Retail where you need to schedule hours or moreso consultancy where the hours can be flexible?
