About Us
Able Glass is a family-owned and operated residential glass shop that has been serving customers since 1969. We specialize in window and patio door repairs, as well as the installation of new windows and doors, glass repairs, mirrors, and more. Our experience in the industry has allowed us to build strong relationships with numerous realtors and property management companies.
How We Got Started
Before our family took over the business, Able Glass was owned by the Curren family and was known as Curren Glass, which was established in 1955. When the Holder family assumed ownership, the name was changed to Able Glass. This change positioned us at the front of the phone book, which was important during the time when phone books were widely used.

Do to all the traffic here in the bay area, we tend to use a two hour window for arrival time (appointments per job vary - this just ensures we have a window of time to arrive at their home). Being in the construction end of business, we need that extra time for driving time and for the...

Do to all the traffic here in the bay area, we tend to use a two hour window for arrival time (appointments per job vary - this just ensures we have a window of time to arrive at their home). Being in the construction end of business, we need that extra time for driving time and for the unexpected customer that asks numerous questions. We then send out an email reminder of their appointment to the customer. This helps for those customers who forget about their appointments, or that have something else come up. They would then notify us to reschedule, which saves us a wasted trip to the home.

I love the challenges of fixing things customers thought could never be fixed or were told that couldn't be fixed by my competitors. Being in a specialty field of window repairs, it helps that I've been in the industry for as long as I've been to know the ins and outs of different manufacturers...

I love the challenges of fixing things customers thought could never be fixed or were told that couldn't be fixed by my competitors. Being in a specialty field of window repairs, it helps that I've been in the industry for as long as I've been to know the ins and outs of different manufacturers and how to solve the issues that come up (this is our 50th year in business). The friendships I've made with numerous customers also is very rewarding.

There isn't really a secret - you just have to learn from your mistakes and strive to be the best in your field at what you do. It helps when you adjust your business from the mistakes you've made to ensure a smoother running company. We've been blessed to know what steps to take during the downturns and knowing how to adjust when things are going really well. Having long term, excellent employees never hurts either. Be sure to always listen to your customers and follow through with the commitment and promises you give them.
