Superior Bleeding Control Program for Emergency Service Providers
Superior Life Support aims to further the national movement to Superior Bleeding Control Program with our highly engaging blended learning experience.
Emergency Service Providers are skilled in administering life-saving skills in the case of an accident or mass casualty event; however, many seek training to master advanced bleeding control techniques. This course serves two important needs. First, it focuses on the skills Emergency Service Providers need to refine their advanced bleeding control techniques in a variety of emergency situations.
Secondly, it helps Emergency Service Providers become more effective partners to community responders when they arrive on scene. Emergency Service Providers will review basic skills that a community responder will utilize and explore the best transition of care from a community responder to trained emergency response professionals.
After taking this course you will be able to:
- Describe the best techniques for the management of hemorrhaging wounds
- Understand wound compression and packing using hemostatic agents
- Learn correct application of elastic bands both for wound compression and as a tourniquet
- Know how to create and apply improvised bandages
- Understand how community responders and emergency service providers should work together to treat bleeding victims
- Take steps to maintain personal safety for the public and responders
