About Us

After a long career making theater, I have come home to the easel. I love the solitude of painting - so unlike the peopled craft of making theater. Each canvas presents me with an empty stage waiting for its particular story to unfold. Theater employs all of the arts and, as a writer/director, I had to envision the whole picture: set, lights, color, sound, and actors. Everything influences movement, tension, and story-line on the stage.
My paintings are abstract or impressionistic with a theatrical quality that evokes an emotional response; the response that comes from recognition of something familiar, but larger than one can fully grasp. I seek to touch a universal chord that captures the personal conflicts at the heart of the human story.

How We Got Started

I returned to painting after a long hiatus, in 2015. PLEASE VISIT MY WEBSITE @ elizabethwiseman.com. OR info@elizabethwiseman.com

I so appreciate an artist who allows the natural coloration in clay speak for itself.  Too much glazing or over painting with designs on-top of the shape often ruins the true beauty that lies in the shape of pottery.  Less is more!    (more) I so appreciate an artist who allows the natural coloration in clay speak for itself.  Too much glazing or over painting with designs on-top of the shape often ruins the true beauty that lies in the shape of pottery.  Less is more!

I just sold a print of a painting and had Santa Fe Print and Images make the print for me.  They do great work and will frame as well.  Now that they have the colors all dialed in, I've decided to run a special on that particular print through the month of Dec.  I've never done this before, so it...
