Couple of points here for review:
Our local electrical utility company averages about a 5-6% rate increase for kWh's every year. If you have a solar system that provides a 100% offset, then you have fixed energy rate for the life of the system. You will not be subject to utility rate inflation.
The solar system will eventually pay for itself, usually around 8-12 years, depending on some factors. Once it does, you have free energy for your home.
