I’m not just an author of mystery novels, but having spent a time in the entertainment industry during its’ heyday I have appeared as a speaker in numerous venues, including radio, television, and print medium. The experiences I’ve shared in life has not only served me as a writer, but also as a movie historian- a position which I’ve used to motivate audiences over the years. As one example, meeting and working with Steve McQueen on Bullitt and Towering Inferno was the motivation for my book “Bullitt Points,” which benefited Steve’s favorite charity, The Boys Republic,” and at which events I had spoken.
I’d always loved books, and was an avid reader since I was eight years old. As with anything you love, eventually I wanted to be a part of it. In the meantime I became Involved in the entertainment industry and after that, as a scientist in the medical profession. It wasn’t until the advent of the computer, Word, Spell Check, etc., that writing was made so much easier ( no carbon paper, etc.) that I returned to my first dream of becoming an author. At first I blogged on the TCM website about my film experiences, and after that wrote a mystery story set in 1930s Hollywood. This book became a hit with the TCM followers, and after that my publishing career took flight. Now, I’m a successful author of seven published mysteries, two of which won awards for excellence.
