The old testament calls for a 10-18% tithe. The new testament does not spell it out.   Give all you can providing your church is using the dollars for Gods purposes.  Don't stop there but give generously to those in need, sponsor a child, wounded warriors, or your favorite charities. Most of us do not do enough with what God has given us. Take on a random project like helping someone to get their teeth fixed. We are on our 6th person that needed extensive dental surgeries and dental work.  Get a dentist to do some pro bono work and pay for the dental parts, dentures, crowns, implant rods etc.
