My first question…did you have a due diligence period? Or was it a foreclosure?   If property sold “as is” and bank owned there was most likely has a defect and flaws clause. It is extremely important to search the fema maps as they change constantly particularly if it is located near any washes.... (more) My first question…did you have a due diligence period? It is extremely important to search the fema maps as they change constantly particularly if it is located near any washes.  Hard to say whether there is any recourse. It is a matter of opinion based on contractual documentation.

Find the RIGHT realtor that works very hard for you and understands your wants and needs. If you are using a lender get pre-qualified before starting your search.
