About Us

I'm a fiction writer, inspired by the simplest–to the most complex challenge a person can face. I'd best describe myself as a “back porch storyteller”– writing grabbing you from the first sentence.

How We Got Started

I have the natural gift of imagination, which has been a beacon all my life. Writing and reading gave me wings as a child. I owe my journey to my parents and grandparents, who inspired me.

I'm old fashion. I love the feel of the book.  E-books are cheaper and may sell faster, but to be honest, it was the BOOK that started it all.  (more) I'm old fashion. I love the feel of the book.  E-books are cheaper and may sell faster, but to be honest, it was the BOOK that started it all.

I want to continue writing page-turning, character-driven novels. If I'm fortunate to have one of my books optioned as a movie, of course, I'll be extremely happy. However, to inspire a reader, with a dream of writing their own story, is what happened to me---the more I read someone else's books.... I like both. Each resonates powerful words. I'd say the modern poets must have been influenced by the classics.  (more) I like both. Each resonates powerful words. I'd say the modern poets must have been influenced by the classics.

I'm inspired by my collection of photography books capturing people and countries. I also sit on the balcony, and look out on landscape of roof tops.  My imagination stirs wondering what's going on inside those homes, and I've written some good short stories.  (more) I'm inspired by my collection of photography books capturing people and countries. I agree with Garry Ryan's May 14th post, and adding---fiction has a mind of its own.  As a writer, I like to give my characters plenty of freedom to decide their paths. I'm just the vessel writing their story.   (more) I agree with Garry Ryan's May 14th post, and adding---fiction has a mind of its own.  As a writer, I like to give my characters plenty of freedom to decide their paths. My imagination is spiked when I'm people watching, flipping through magazines, or watching British dramas. I try to pull out character elements that are unique.  (more) My imagination is spiked when I'm people watching, flipping through magazines, or watching British dramas. Also reading new and old issues of the magazine--Poets & Writers, and a book by Bill Burnett & Dave Evans called --Designing Your Life (how to build a well-lived joyful life).
